The highly coveted obstacle course event, Viper Challenge, will hit Cyberjaya on 2nd December 2017. Named the Great Eastern Viper Challenge Cyberjaya 2017, this will be the Viper Challenge Series Finisher for the year and their biggest event of the year – boasting a brand new lineup of obstacles spanning a total of 20km.

The Great Eastern Viper Challenge Cyberjaya 2017 does not only mark Viper Challenge’s first time in Cyberjaya but it also signals the final leg of Cyberjaya’s year-long 20th anniversary celebration – giving another meaning to ‘series finisher’.

Throughout the year, Cyberjaya played host to a myriad of events under the organisation of SetiaHaruman, the city’s Master Developer, along with other stakeholders to showcase the possibilities that Cyberjaya has got to offer. Sports events in particular have been a common feature in the city, thanks to its vast and spacious roads and abundant greenery designed to encourage an active lifestyle among its community.

“It has been a fantastic year-round for Viper Challenge with six events covering a total distance of 69km and 20 obstacles giving satisfaction to participants from all over the world,” said Original Bootcamp SdnBhd Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Selva Kumar.

He added,“What better way to draw the curtains than to have our grand finale in a place as unique as Cyberjaya. I am certain that each and every one of us – including the sponsors, to the event crew, partners and most importantlythe participants can look forward to a great experience in Cyberjaya just as in the previous five Viper Challenge series this year.”

“We are happy to be the venue host for Viper Challenge as it allows more fitness enthusiasts to get acquainted with Cyberjaya as a sports venue. We have hosted numerous sports events in the past, but Viper Challenge will be our largest event to date. We are definitely very excited to see it all take place. This collaboration could not have come at a better time as we close our 20th anniversary celebration,” said SetiaHarumanSdnBhd Chairman, Ahmad Khalif bin Mustapha Kamal.

Organised by Original Bootcamp SdnBhd, the homegrown Viper Challenge series is known for its physically demanding obstacles lined up in a route with a distance of at least 7km. This December, an estimated 15,000 participants will come together in Cyberjaya to take on Viper Challenge’s longest route to date.

Playing a pivotal role as title sponsor in the Cyberjaya leg and three other installments is Great Eastern Life. The partnership with Great Eastern Life in the past two years is an initiative under the brand’s Live Great Programme, the first ever health and wellness programme by an insurance company in the region which aims to help Malaysians live healthier and better.

Malaysia Major Events, a division of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia (MoTAC) has continuously pledged its support towards Viper Challenge right from the beginning as the event continues to be a hit especially among hard core obstacle enthusiasts.

The Viper Challenge series successfully recorded a total of 40,000 participants last year and anticipate 60,000 participants by December 2017. The 2017 edition consists of six instalments, starting with Viper Challenge Singapore in February and then Penang, Johor, Genting Highlands, and Shah Alam before finally coming to a close in Cyberjaya.
