CADBURY DAIRY MILK CELEBRATES THE FLAVOURS OF MALAYSIA WITH NEW LIMITED-EDITION PRODUCT

Cadbury Dairy Milk collaborates with iconic Malaysian artist Datuk Lat to create limited edition illustrated sleeves on selected products
After decades of being a staple in everyday Malaysian lives, Cadbury Dairy Milk, the nation’s favourite chocolate brand under Mondelēz International (Mondelez), launched Cadbury Dairy Milk Kopi C - its first ever localised limited-edition flavour made exclusively for the Malaysian market today. Accompanying this exciting new product is an exclusive collaboration with iconic Malaysian cartoonist, Datuk Lat, whose illustrations will be featured on the sleeves of selected Cadbury Dairy Milk products.

In celebration of Malaysian culture, Cadbury pays homage to the diverse flavours that make the nation. From the local way of life to sharing the joy of culinary delights with others, the confectionary conglomerate continues in its quest to bring more joy to consumers by introducing excitement, surprise and delight in the form of a flavour that is synonymous to one of Malaysian’s greatest and simplest life pleasures that can be attained at any local eatery from a kopitiam to a neighbourhood cafe - kopi c. With its delicious blend of bold kopi c flavour and silky smooth milk chocolate, Cadbury’s latest product is reminiscent of two memorable flavours that the nation grew up and are familiar with.

Speaking at the launch of Cadbury Dairy Milk Kopi C, Nikhil Nicholas, Mondelēz Malaysia Chocolates Category Manager said, “After many years of support from the Malaysian market, we felt that this was the perfect time for Cadbury to commemorate our longstanding presence here by celebrating the Malaysian flavours that make the nation. The delicious taste of Cadbury Dairy Milk’s signature chocolate coupled with the well-loved kopi c flavour are sure to delight the taste buds of our Malaysian consumers, especially because both Cadbury and kopi c are flavours that many grew up and are familiar with and also represents a seamless integration of global and local icons. We understand Malaysians’ affinity to food and we hope that our latest flavour continues to delight our consumers from the old to the young.”




Along with the new limited-edition flavour, Cadbury Dairy Milk’s iconic staple flavours will also be given a new lease on life with additional sleeves that feature hand-drawn illustrations by iconic Malaysian cartoonist, Datuk Lat, whose Kampung Boy series embodies the very essence of Malaysian culture. The three pieces of drawings in Datuk Lat’s signature style features the Kampung Boy himself, Lat, depicted at various stages of his life from a young boy to a man in three typical Malaysian scenarios - at a kenduri (a gathering of a community), a kopitiam (traditional coffee shop in Malaysia) and a kedai runcit (local sundry shop). The unique illustrations are centered around Malaysians’ love for food, which is in line with Cadbury Dairy Milk’s running theme of ‘bringing joy through food’.
“I was thrilled when I was approached by Cadbury to be a part of this exciting campaign. Growing up as a young boy in Malaysia, my earliest recollection of the brand was indulging in a bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk and I’ve since shared the joy with my family and friends. Throughout the years, my work has always been to showcase the spirit of togetherness of our beloved Malaysians who celebrate our differences and fully enjoy our unique way of life. These drawings capture the essence of our life and its been a great honour to be sharing this with Cadbury,” said Datuk Lat.

Cadbury Dairy Milk first made its entrance decades ago and remains a Malaysian favourite. Over the years, the chocolate brand has introduced various well-known flavours including Roast Almond, Hazelnut, Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo and Marvellous Creations to name a few, with the addition of Cadbury Dairy Milk Kopi C as Cadbury’s first localised flavour to date.

The new Cadbury Dairy Milk Kopi C is now available in major Hypermarkets and Supermarkets, nationwide with a recommended selling price of RM8.50 for 165g from now until 30 September 2018. There is also a limited-edition gift box featuring Datuk Lat’s illustrations which are available exclusively on Shopee for RM37.
