Full-Fledged Piece of Outdoor Gear to Support Activities in the Mountains, Rivers and Seas
  |
Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced today the latest addition to the PRO TREK series of outdoor watches. The PRW-7000X is a special release for Baselworld that features a carbon bezel. A limited edition of 1,300 watches will be sold worldwide.
The new PRW-7000X boasts 20-bar water resistance, equalling the highest specification in the PRO TREK series. The watch is based on the PRW-7000, which is designed to support rugged use in a range of activities across rivers and seas. The PRW-7000X adds a bold-looking bezel made from carbon fibre materials. Carbon fibre, with its light weight and rigidity, is extensively used in outdoor gear such as fishing poles. For the bezel, carbon fibre sheets are layered and hardened before being cut to size. The index marks and crown are finished in a new rose-gold finish that highlights the stylish design of the watch.
The watch comes with Neon Illuminator to ensure visibility in the dark, in a special red exclusive to this Baselworld model. The unique red colour, made possible by Casio’s original technology for going easy on the eyes, was inspired the spirited dedication of anglers.
To enhance the functions for water-based activities, Casio equipped the watch with barometric pressure/altitude and compass bearing sensors, as well as a tide graph function that gives an indication of high tides. A fishing time function suggests the best times for fishing in the day, indicated on the LCD. The lower right in-dial functions as an indicator for barometric pressure/altitude trends, bearing memory, and tide graph information, using a fan-shaped indicator hand. The glass is made from scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, adding to a full-fledged piece of outdoor gear that the owner can take even further afield.
