AN IMMERSIVE ALL-MALAYSIAN EXPERIENCE IN SUNWAY CITY KUALA LUMPUR

A stroll down memory lane across five specially-curated spaces at the #JomMalaysia Carnival in conjunction with Hari Kebangsaan

Patriotic Malaysians and fans of nostalgia are in for a treat this independence day, as the Sunway Group is gearing up to deliver an all-immersive Malaysian experience through its specially-curated #JomMalaysia Carnival which will be open to public for free.

The #JomMalaysia Carnival will take place on August 31 and September 1, from 10 am until 10 pm in front of Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa in Sunway City Kuala Lumpur.

“We have created the #JomMalaysia Carnival as a tribute to the nation’s ‘Sayangi Malaysiaku’ campaign. For the Carnival, we have curated five experiential spaces which showcase the diversity of heritage and culture of Malaysia,” said Tan Sri Razman M. Hashim, Deputy Chairman of Sunway Group.

“We hope that this will be a nostalgia-inducing experience for everyone which will strengthen their love for the country through cultivating a deeper understanding of our history. To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia,” he added.

Visitors attending the #JomMalaysia Carnival can experience the Malaysian journey through five experiential spaces - Flavours of Malaysia (Food), Voices of Malaysia (Music), Cultures of Malaysia (Dance), Arts of Malaysia (Arts & Crafts), and Games of Malaysia (Games).

The excitement starts at the entrance of the Carnival where the unique “Evolution Tunnel” will transport visitors through a historical timeline showcasing Malaysia’s rich historical heritage. The tunnel will also showcase Sunway’s transformation from its early mining days into a multinational conglomerate today, very much in tandem with Malaysia’s progress as a nation.
Ardent foodies will be able to sample an array of tantalising Malaysian favourites including nasi kerabu, laksa, rojak and cendol at the Flavours of Malaysia space. The “Childhood Food Store” within this experiential space guarantees a deliciously nostalgic experience where the great snacks of the 70s and 80s such as White Rabbit Candy, Haw Flakes, Eye Glass Candy, The Laughing Cow Belcubes, Biskut Piring, Apollo Chocolate Wafers, Ice Gems, Roti Ice Cream and others will make a delightful comeback.

For dance afficionados, an unforgettable cultural experience awaits at the Cultures of Malaysia space. Here, visitors will be taken through a captivating journey of Malaysia’s diverse cultural heritage through sublime performances by the talented performers from ASWARA Malaysia.

At the Voices of Malaysia space, an sonic extravaganza awaits, where  vocalists and musicians from the Malaysian Buskers Club promise to enthrall the audience with their lively repertoire of original and cover songs.
