TRAVEL TIPS WITH AIRASIA

AirAsia Travel Advisory: Arrive early, self check-in and
pre-book what you need
Follow these tips for a smoother travel experience this upcoming school holidays

The upcoming school holidays next week will see a surge of travellers at major airports that AIRASIA and AirAsia X operate in, especially at KLIA2 with over 40,000 guests a day.

Guests are encouraged to follow these tips to make their travel experience a smoother and more enjoyable one:

Arrive early
It is recommended to arrive at least three (3) hours prior to your flight departure for AirAsia flights, and at least four (4) hours earlier for AirAsia X flights. Arriving early will enable travellers to clear all travel formalities such as baggage-drop, customs, security and immigration clearance which might take longer than usual during peak travel period such as school holidays.

Baggage drop counters close one (1) hour before scheduled time of departure for all AirAsia and AirAsia X flights.

Self check-in
Check-in via AirAsia’s website, mobile app or at the kiosk at the airport as early as fourteen (14) days before your flight, up to one (1) hour prior to departure for AirAsia flights, and up to four (4) hours prior to departure for AirAsia X flights. Travellers will also be able to preview where they are seated while conducting self check-in over the web, and can easily Pick-A-Seat if the automatically assigned seat is not a preferred one.

Pick-A-Seat is also available in AirAsia’s ‘Manage My Booking’ function on the website before conducting web check-in.

Guests traveling in AirAsia X can also opt for more peace and quiet at the Quiet Zone, or experience affordable luxury with the award-winning Premium Flatbed which also comes with other awesome perks.

Pre-book what you need
Travellers who are planning to check-in their bags are encouraged to pre-book their baggage allocation before they fly. Pre-booking baggage allocation will help travellers to save significantly as compared to paying for baggage at the airport counter. Log on to ‘Manage My Booking’ to add baggage allocation at airasia.com up to four (4) hours before the scheduled time of departure.

AirAsia and AirAsia X would like to remind all guests that only one cabin bag (not larger than 56 x 36 x 23cm, including handles and wheels) and one small bag such as a laptop bag or handbag (no larger than 40 x 30 x 10cm) are allowed on-board and the total permitted weight for 2 pieces must not exceed 7kg.

Apart from that, guests can also pre-book their favourite or preferred inflight meals up to twenty four (24) hours before their flight for both AirAsia and AirAsia X flights. The airline’s SANTAN Combo Meals have up to 15 meal choices, and provide value for money as each combo meal is only RM10 inclusive of a complimentary drink for AirAsia flights, and only RM15 for AirAsia X flights.

Duty-free items are also available for pre-book up to forty eight (48) hours before flight for AirAsia guests on AirAsia flights (flight code AK). Browse over 100 items on bigdutyfree.com and pre-book luxury brands and merchandise that will be delivered straight to the guest’s seat. There will also be a 15% off on all online purchases when guests spend RM100 and above with this promo code: M15RCH. Promo code valid till 31 March 2017. On selected AirAsia flights, guests can also enjoy ROKKI - an onboard Wi-Fi portal that offers inflight entertainment for free and connectivity at their fingertips.
